Living By Faith...

Matthew 6:26-29
(26) Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
(27) Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
(28) And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
(29) And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

We sang this beloved hymn this past Sunday at church, and I couldn't help but think of its personal application to my life at this point in time.  Many of you know that our Christian School had to close its doors this year, and that left me "unemployed".  The Lord is faithful, as always and brought me in contact with a Christian School about 45 minutes south of my house.  I have been able to substitute teach for a 3rd Grade teacher on maternity leave for the past month.  The Lord has used Orangeburg Christian Academy to be very good to me, and I praise the Lord for His interceding.  I have three working days left there this week, and then two more days scheduled in November, and then my calendar looks awfully blank in terms of work days!

This passage in Matthew speaks of how the Lord takes care of the birds' shelter, food, and of the clothing of the lilies of the field.  We know that since He takes care of those creations, that He will take care of us even more.

I have come to meet many new friends, both teachers, faculty and students @ OCA, and I will miss them terribly (if they do not have any more openings for me.)  But I must trust the God in His wisdom and perfect will, has the right path for me to take.  I just have to wait for the daily manna.   He meets our needs on His time table, and not our own.

Verse 27 reminds me that worrying about it won't change a thing, it will just make me miserable, so why worry?  Because it's the human thing to do. But I must set aside that weight of worry which so easily besets me, and just focus on Jesus.  He knows exactly what I need.

I appreciate your prayers in regards to my college classes also.  I received As in my both of my first two classes, and Lord willing, we'll try for two more before Christmas.

I had hoped to be writing more during this eight weeks to have my next work out by Christmas, but it doesn't look like I'll be making that deadline.  I hope to be able to write some during Christmas break, and then perhaps release the next work in the Spring.

We'll just take it one day at a time, living by faith.

God Bless You!
