Thank you to Pastor Bo and Sister Dana Wagner and all of the members of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Mooresboro, NC for a wonderful Ladies' Conference on yesterday. "Christmas Memories!" I never would have thought about using that type of theme for a meeting in August! But it was was wonderful, and the messages were tremendous. Mrs. Dana spoke to the ladies on creating and preserving memories, and how important that is for future generations.
Some of you may have heard via Facebook, that we had to close our Christian school on Friday, after starting the school year, and having only one week of class. It was heartbreaking. The Lord just didn't see fit to send us enough students to support the school financially this year. We were hoping for a miracle. Sometimes families wait until the last minute, and then send their children instead of homeschooling. Sometimes, they will start the students in other schools, and then become dissatisfied and transfer them out. None of these things happened, and the school board made the saddening decision to close the school, after only two years.
I'm glad that I had determined in my heart the very first year that Cornerstone Christian School WOULD have a yearbook, do or die! I made the first one myself. I remember on the night of the due date, I never went to bed. I had a deadline. I finished at six a.m. the next morning, and my husband made me lay down for thirty minutes before getting up to pull another school day.
Last year's yearbook was made by the students on our very first yearbook staff. They did a wonderful job. One student in particular discovered that God had given her a talent for photography. I can't wait to see what she does with it!
I find myself at a crossroad, and I'm unsure of what to do. I do know that I must continue the college courses that I've started, because the deadline for dropping without financial penalty has passed, so I will still be working on that. But, I will also be seeking part-time employment. Please pray that God will provide.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
God Bless and have a great Sunday!
